I always expressed my view about life as something which is astoundingly conflicted. I can’t imagine a single day without any hustle, in fact just pushing myself out of bed early in the morning is itself a big struggle by sensing the exhausting day ahead of me.
In such a conflicted life, we always get to hear that there is ‘no gain without pain’. It, surely, rhymes perfectly, but it also brings to light the reality. Each of us has gained so much and is yet to gain so much more. Only we can acknowledge the pain we undertook as an amount to pay for those gains.
A senior colleague of mine has made me a note which says that for survival, one should never get into any comfort zone. The moment you realize that you are in your comfort zone, shake yourself out of it! Since that day I was never able to get those words out of my mind. Eventually, to my surprise, I realized that these words did not just guide my professional attitude, but my personal attitude as well.
I tried to implement those words into practice and lately, under some pressure and frustrating environment, those words proved to be encouraging. I pushed myself out of some comfort zones which benefited my working under pressure.
Nowadays, wherever we go, we all have an insistent environment around us which includes our home, too. We have so many errands to complete, so many deadlines to cater to, and so much to accomplish! The true fact is that we need to be proactive and motivated to complete such errands. But I bet, none of us can be stress-free, carefree, or motivated enough all the time. Some of us deal with emotional baggage while some of us lack the strength to face those deadlines. But does anyone realize that such ‘reasons’ are the ones that are pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones!
Comfort zones surely are soothing and relaxing but they are never perpetual. They last temporarily but might leave long-lasting damages. Sometimes, we may require our comfort zone, but we should be sensible enough to know where and when we need it. We should be aware of the things or humans that bring us that comfort. But, we should never allow any comfort zone to lower our proactive essentials.
Working hard will definitely return its results to you, but keeping yourself going through it never ends up in comfort zones as change is a constant rule of life and comfort zones will make it hard to accept those changes.
Think wise each time to end up in your comfort zones!
