LET'S LEARN TO TALK ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND TAKE A STEP FORWARD AS A SOCIETY

People around you can have an effect on your mental health but they can not control your mental peace until you let them. Here I would like to share some tools with you that helped me kick a stressful situation and hope that it helps you too.


“The truth is that stress doesn’t come from your boss, your kids, your spouse, traffic jams, health challenges, or other circumstances. It comes from your thoughts about your circumstances.” - Andrew Bernstein


Live in the moment:

The best remedy to achieve the life free of stress and anxiety is to live in the present moment. The future is undetermined and the past is gone. Right now is the time to remove the negativity from your life. You cannot change anything from the past and worrying over the future will not ease any obstacle. It will only make you anxious.


"When a defining moment comes along, you can do one of two things. Define the moment, or let the moment define you." - Roy McAvoy, 'Tin Cup'.


Write it down:

Writing is a wonderful way to help relieve stress. Make a diary of your favorite color and decorate it. Start writing from the things you are grateful for and then write your heart out.

Gratitude:

Many studies have shown that people who count their blessings tend to live happy and less depressed. Fill your heart with gratitude. Gratitude can help boost your thoughts and ease your emotions.

Do good things for others:

It always works! When you do something good for someone else, it automatically boost your mood. Doing an act of kindness can make you feel accomplished.

Exercise:

Endorphins are the hormones which releases in response to exercise. They are the body's natural painkillers. This relieves pain and creates a general feeling of well-being. So next time you’re feeling anxious, worried, or exhausted, go for a walk, play a game, you can also take a yoga class or join the gym.

Music:

Music always works for me. Listening to music every time puts me in a good mood and it refresh my mind. Avoid listening to sad songs when you are already feeling down. Instead try something relaxing or hip hop.

Reading:

If you enjoy reading, then it can help you escaping the stressful situation. Read a book, newspaper, novel or poetry will definitely work.

Conclusion:

Mental peace that gives you the happiness. Other materialistic things may increase happiness but peace of mind it what makes you successful because you can only make a best decision if you have a peaceful mind. Take care of yourself and people around you.
