Dear Mind #2,

We recently asked people to write a letter to their mental health, and here’s what they wrote!

Hi Self,

I want myself to feel fresh and energetic throughout my life without any outside judgment. For that, I try to keep myself away from toxic people and the people who pass remarks on me.

Those remarks probably sometimes teach me and motivate me to grow further and nurture myself. They increase my potential and rectify my errors if any.

But if the remarks are toxic then I move forward from it.

Dear Mental Health,

I know how much you have suffered and tolerated. I know how difficult it is to remain calm without having numerous thoughts each and every minute. I know you battle suicidal thoughts every single day and how exhausting it must be for you. I know you overthink and overanalyze stuff because you don’t want anybody else (especially your close ones) to suffer. I know you want to be in a much better state in the near future and you look up to it. I know how traumatized you are from the recurring painful situations that keep playing inside you. But you still love and care for people who hurt you. It requires so much strength, right? How do you get so much energy to tackle all the negativities of life? How do you feel when people label me as lazy (physically) when it is you who is tired and searching for answers? How do you manage to struggle and yet give me the hope to survive? You’re messed up, but you’re beautiful you know? You have the potential to remain sensitive in a world that’s too harsh for you. A world, who doesn’t recognize that you ain’t naive but innocent. You’re too sweet for this world. I will do whatever it takes to make you feel good. I know you love it when I pour my heart out through my write-ups and how much you adore when I just unwind myself while dancing. Art therapy means so much to you. It gives you a space to express that you're more important than anybody else out there. You appreciate being acknowledged sometimes in a country where it’s not easy to talk about you. You want to give back to your community because you know how it feels to be in that state where one doesn’t know whom to reach out to when they are suffering. I know you want to work selflessly for this cause which will help you and people around you to heal in the most powerful ways. I promise to take workshops and learn and practice certain activities that make you feel content. I promise to be the change that you so badly want to see in this world.

Sincerely,

A person who’s healing
